“Orange Pi,” a new hacker SBC and RPi clone, is available in 3 models using Allwinner’s dual-core A20 SoC, and a third model Orange Pi Plus that’s based on the quad-core H3.
Just in time for our upcoming year-end hacker SBC roundup, Shenzhen Xunlong Software unveiled an Orange Pi board that shares a number of characteristics with the Raspberry Pi Model B+, and many more with the $45 Banana Pi RPi clone.

The Orange Pi, is available in Orange Pi and Orange Pi Mini versions, both of which use the dual-core, Cortex-A7 Allwinner A20 system-on-chip. There’s also an Orange Pi Plus version that features a quad-core Allwinner H3 SoC. I particularly like this model because unlike the new Quadcore Banana Pi M2, it has SATA capabilities. It has all the best features of the Banana pi boards plus more, It runs Android and Linux, It has WIFI onboard, 4 USB 2.0 ports, SATA interface for up to 2TB on a 2.5" Harddrive, 40 Pin GPIO compatible with the Raspberry Pi 2 and B+ and it can display 4K video through its HDMI connector. Also the 8GB eMMC Flash memory pre-loaded with Android 4.4.2 is a nice addition, it works out of the box! No need to burn images on an SDcard if Android is what you want to run as an operating system. The booting time is super fast too.
